A Meeting of Two Generations
At first glance, Steven Tyler and Yungblud appear to come from very different eras of rock music.
Tyler became one of the defining voices of American rock as the frontman of Aerosmith, while Yungblud emerged decades later with a volatile mix of punk, alternative rock and modern pop culture. Yet when the two finally shared a stage, the age gap seemed almost irrelevant.
Their most visible meeting came at the 2025 MTV Video Music Awards, where Yungblud joined Tyler, Aerosmith guitarist Joe Perry and Nuno Bettencourt for an emotional tribute to Ozzy Osbourne. The musicians performed a medley featuring “Crazy Train,” “Changes” and “Mama, I’m Coming Home,” with Tyler and Yungblud eventually trading vocals during the finale.
It was more than a television moment. It offered audiences a glimpse of what two generations of theatrical, unpredictable rock performers could create together.
And that chemistry did not end when the cameras stopped rolling.
From One Performance to “One More Time”
In November 2025, Aerosmith and Yungblud released the collaborative EP One More Time, marking Aerosmith’s first new music in more than 12 years.
The five-track project included four newly written songs — “My Only Angel,” “Problems,” “Wild Woman” and “A Thousand Days” — alongside a new 2025 version of the Aerosmith classic “Back In The Saddle.” Steven Tyler and Yungblud shared vocals throughout the project, while Joe Perry’s guitar remained at the center of its classic-rock identity.
“My Only Angel” became an especially significant moment. According to Aerosmith’s official release, the track debuted at No. 1 on Billboard’s Hot Hard Rock Songs chart.
The partnership therefore moved beyond nostalgia. Instead of Yungblud simply paying tribute to an artist who came before him, the musicians were creating new material together.
That distinction is important.
Rock history is filled with one-night collaborations and award-show pairings. Far fewer develop into an entire body of new work.
Why a 2027 Tour Would Be Different
A joint Steven Tyler–Yungblud tour would not need to behave like a conventional greatest-hits show.
Imagine the possibilities.
Yungblud could open the night with the confrontational energy that has defined his own concerts. Songs from his solo catalogue could gradually give way to material from One More Time. Joe Perry could enter for the heavier collaborations. Then, as the lights fall and the first notes of an Aerosmith classic echo through the arena, Tyler could step onto the stage.
Suddenly, the concert would become something bigger than two separate sets.
“Dream On.”
“Walk This Way.”
“My Only Angel.”
“Back In The Saddle.”
Perhaps another emotional tribute to Ozzy Osbourne.
The appeal would come from contrast: Tyler’s decades of rock history colliding with Yungblud’s restless modern energy.
Rolling Stone UK reported that the connection between the two singers developed quickly in the studio. Tyler described seeing something of himself in the younger performer, while Yungblud spoke about the similarities in their personalities and vocal approaches. Joe Perry also said that working with Yungblud appeared to inspire Tyler during their sessions.
That chemistry is precisely what could make a future live collaboration fascinating.
But There Is One Major Question
There is an important distinction between an exciting possibility and an officially announced tour.
As of September 2026, there is no official announcement confirming a Steven Tyler and Yungblud World Tour for 2027 on Aerosmith’s or Yungblud’s official channels. Yungblud’s official tour page currently states that there are no shows available, while Aerosmith’s official site lists recent releases and news but does not announce such a joint tour.
There is also the question of Tyler’s ability to undertake the physical demands of a full-scale world tour.
Aerosmith announced in 2024 that the band would retire from touring after Tyler suffered a serious vocal injury during the Peace Out farewell tour. At the time, the band said a full recovery from the injury was not possible. His subsequent appearances — including the 2025 VMAs — demonstrated that he could return to the stage for selected performances, but an appearance at a special event is very different from performing dozens of concerts across several continents.
For that reason, any future Tyler–Yungblud live project could potentially take a different form: selected stadium dates, special residencies, festival appearances or a limited run rather than a traditional year-long world tour.
Rock’s Past Meeting Its Future
Whatever happens next, Steven Tyler and Yungblud have already created something unusual.
Their partnership does not feel entirely like nostalgia, nor does it feel like a younger artist simply borrowing the credibility of a rock legend. Their recorded work and live appearances suggest something more reciprocal — two performers finding common ground despite coming from radically different generations.
And perhaps that is why the idea of 2027 feels so intriguing.
A massive tour has not been confirmed. The cities have not been announced. There are no official stadium dates or ticket-sale countdowns.
Not yet.
But after the VMAs, One More Time, and the unexpected chemistry between two of rock’s most explosive personalities, fans have been given enough to imagine what it might look like if Steven Tyler and Yungblud decided to take that energy around the world.
